Things to do in the area!

Bel Air is in the heart of horse-racing country, with numerous meetings in various towns literally minutes away: Le Lion d'Angers, Craon, Segré or Angers to name but the best-known.

Bel Air is covered with fine blue-black slates and the last surviving slate mine, La Mine Bleue, has been transformed into a splendid museum with a vertical tram to take you down. Just next door is a folk museum La Petite Couère, to see what life was like on the farm in olden days!

Bel Air is within 30 minutes of a great number of veritable though maybe lesser-known Châteaux: Le Plessis Macé, Le Plessis Bourré, Montriou etc. And just 90 minutes from some of the most famous Loire valley Châteaux: Amboise, Chenonceaux, Villandry etc.
